When I Was Naive

from Surviving the Wicked Storm by Lordchain

/

lyrics

Before social media I thought all Christian bands
Lived what they sang about, but I was wrong
They seemed so sincere about their walk with Christ
In magazine interviews and in the lyrics of their songs

So I’m sending out this letter to the ones
I thought truly believed
Was it actually better back in the day
When I was naïve

Now there’s excuses for every sin and worldly pleasure
That come across the mind
It’s like trying to fit God into what the world will accept
But to me it’s just a lie

Now there is one question I don’t want to ask
The finger points at me, am I wearing the mask
